A charity golf tournament yesterday raised $114,500 for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Singapore.

The amount will be split equally between the two funds.

The daylong tournament was attended by 130 business leaders from the manufacturing, banking, finance and other sectors, including the chairman of The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, Mr Han Fook Kwang.

The golf outing at the Singapore Island Country Club was organised by the RHT Rajan Menon Foundation named after RHTLaw Taylor Wessing LLP senior partner Rajan Menon to celebrate Singapore's 50th birthday.

Mr Han, who was the guest of honour, said such events "help The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund support approximately 14,000 children and youth from low-income families, and help raise awareness among business leaders in Singapore that much can still be done to help local communities".
